General Marshall MS Orchestra
The General Marshall Orchestra’s mission is to empower students through musical training, providing fundamental skills through practice and performance; allowing students to find expression through music making.
The General Marshall Orchestras
The GMMS Ram Orchestra was established in 2023 upon the opening of Dr. General Marshall Middle School. Taking home in the vibrant Mueller area of East Austin, the Ram Orchestra Program welcomes students from a diverse array of backgrounds. The program serves 6th through 8th grade students, and all levels of string playing experience. Made up of 3 orchestras - FYO "First Year Orchestra" (beginner), Concert Orchestra (Intermediate), and Chamber Orchestra (Advanced). Students participate in numerous performances throughout the school year, and festivals. Students in the top orchestras participate in the UIL Contest & Sight-Reading evaluation held every spring.
The Orchestras are currently under the direction of Mr. Romero since Fall 2024. The program has since then grown from 40 students, to over 100.
